Welcome to Maid Spin, the personal website of iklone. I write about about otaku culture as well as history, philosophy and mythology.
My interests range from anime & programming to mediaevalism & navigation. Hopefully something on this site will interest you.
I'm a devotee of the late '90s / early '00s era of anime, as well as a steadfast lover of maids. My favourite anime is Mahoromatic. I also love the works of Tomino and old Gainax.

Every year the Nottingham University Anime Society produces a fanzine consisting of articles, reviews and artwork made by the society members. The society had been making zines far before I joined, but by the time I did join it had gone out of practice. So in 2019 I, helped by other members, brought it back and it has been getting better and better each year.
This year for the first time we are publishing the Zine in physical prints, a move spurred on by this year's president. But the zine is staying free to read online and always will, this is definitely not a for-profit endeavour.
My contributions are as follows:
I'm most proud of my Mahoromatic article, "Memories of a Springtime Sun", and I will be posting it, along with the others, separately onto Maid Spin soon.
Well done to the society and particularly to the editor "Trenchcoat" (real name) for making another great Zine. You can read all the previous instalments here.
